CITERNA PHOTOGRAPHY FESTIVAL

Last weekend of April
The Citerna Photography Festival promotes the art of photography in Umbria and Tuscany. The aim of the event is to bring photographers, photography projects and photography lovers to the ancient village of Citerna, the perfect backdrop for artistic encounters and exchanges.
The festival is also an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the local landscape, history, culture and enogastronomy.
TRUFFLE HUNTER’S BASKET FESTIVAL
First two weeks of October
The festival highlights local and traditional food specialities. Visitors can enjoy tastings of truffles, honeys, cheeses, wines and vinsanto (dessert wine).
Moreover, a competition to find truffles takes place in Piazza Scipione Scipioni and the winning prize is the “Truffle Hunter’s Basket”.
PISTRINO: GRAPE FESTIVAL
3rd weekend of September
The festival offers a show-market of local wines and a parade with traditional floats.
FIGHILLE: FRIED BREAD FESTIVAL
1st weekend of October
This village festival offers an opportunity to try a delicious local speciality, which is fried bread made with a traditional recipe of flour, water, salt and brewer’s yeast.
